as long as you keep the incoming signal in reason in audio cables it stays at full rate. but only bitwig2.0 keeps it at full quality internaly until it collides with a vst2 plugin. you can bring your cv from reaktor to bitwig and reason via audiooutputs in full quality since both can convert audio into internal cv. Here comes the point where bitwig2.0 (everything is running at full audio rate internally) with vst3 support is simply better. (i know you can adjust the controlrate or just use audio inside reaktor, like blocks do) Since reason only seem to support vst 2.4 and reaktor too you can do everything, but snappy envelopes a la waldorf synths aren`t possible via midi cc or downsampled cv. Vst3 supports full audiorate and sampleaccurate modulations/automations. and it is downsampled, not running at full audio rate, like blocks or my beat lfo ensemble do. it is virtual, but you can use it in virtual cables, just like in reality. It should also be noted that because the Reason 4.0 sequencer is sample accurate, theoretically, the synchronization should be very solid when sending CV signals through the MOTU audio interface."Ĭv in reason itself is like cv in reaktor. With this Thor patch, it’s possible to control analog synthesizer systems (in this case the Oberheim S.E.M.) from the Reason MIDI Sequencer, Thor Pattern Sequencer, Matrix Pattern Sequencer, any LFO source in Reason, and the RPG-8 Monophonic Arpeggiator. A bit of tweaking was required to get the note cv scaling set, but after finding the right settings, I had Thor acting as a MIDI to CV converter. Surprisingly, they had some premade cables that fit the bill: Female XLR to 1/8″ mini plug!Īfter wiring everything up, it took about 90 seconds to find the right calibration settings and I had Reason sending Note CV and Gate CV signals out through the MOTU 896HD into an old Oberheim CPS-1 / S.E.M.

If so, would this be possible? (quote from here): Click to expand. You mean Reason CV is fake CV?
